While most North Carolina colleges are cutting back in this tough economic time, one is expanding its music program. Salisbury-based Âé¶¹APPis calling their recent expansion an investment in the future.

When the hit the football field this fall, they will be joined by the , a full marching band, something the college hasn't seen since the 1970s.

"I think it's a blessing because it shows the confidence that our trustees and the administration at Âé¶¹APPhave in what we're doing," said Catawba College's Marching Band Director Jay Meachum.
