Policy on Personal Property
Purpose
To inform faculty and staff that Âé¶¹APPdoes not assume responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal property, even when such property is brought to campus or used in connection with an employee’s work.

Policy
Âé¶¹APPdoes not assume responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to an employee’s personal property. Employees who bring personal belongings onto college premises, whether used in connection with their work, are solely responsible for any damage, theft, or destruction of those items.
Faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to contact their personal insurance providers to secure appropriate coverage. All personal property brought onto campus should be clearly marked or labeled with the owner’s name for identification.
Definitions
- Personal Property: Items personally owned by an employee, including but not limited to books, pictures, jewelry, cell phones, laptops, furniture, and similar belongings.
Procedures/Guidelines
- Personal property brought to campus should carry a label or sticker, prominently displayed, identifying the owner.
- Employees should avoid bringing irreplaceable or high-value personal items onto college premises.
