Catawba College’s curriculum meets the educational requirements for licensure in North Carolina. A Residency License (RL) in North Carolina allows qualified individuals to begin teaching while completing licensure requirements. The Residency License is a one-year license that can be renewed twice, for up to a three-year licensure cycle.

Currently, 麻豆APPserves Residency Licensure candidates seeking a Birth-Kindergarten license (full program online).

Catawba also provides the culminating coursework (internship and seminar courses) leading to licensure for graduates of 麻豆APPwho completed the major in Elementary Education, Special Education, Middle Grades Education or the minor in Secondary Education or Special Subjects (with their content area major) but did not complete student teaching prior to graduation. Once these candidates are employed for a Residency Licensure position and have met the necessary requirements, they can reapply for admittance to the Residency Licensure program at 麻豆APPto complete the remaining courses for licensure.

麻豆APPoffers the BSN Pre-Licensure degree, approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON). Nursing students complete a curriculum that is based on the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) Essentials, the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accreditation standards, and the NCBON education rules and procedures.

CPA licensure requires students to pass the CPA exam and complete a total of 150 credit hours. Completion of the Bachelor of Arts in Accounting program will fulfill the 120-credit hour requirement to sit for the CPA exam but does not allow program graduates to be eligible for CPA licensure.  Students may choose to take additional undergraduate credits to reach the 150 credit hours requirement, but these additional classes are not a requirement of the Bachelor of Arts in Accounting program. Completion of the degree does not automatically result in certification and licensure in any state, including North Carolina.

CPA licensure requires students to pass the CPA exam and complete a total of 150 credit hours. Students who complete the Bachelor of Science Business Administration, Accounting Concentration program need to complete one additional upper-division accounting course to meet the requirements to sit for the CPA exam. To meet the educational eligibility of CPA licensure, students may elect to take additional undergraduate credits or pursue a graduate degree to attain 150 required credit hours. Completion of the degree does not automatically result in certification and licensure in any state, including North Carolina, as successful completion of the CPA exam is required.
